The TÜV comes into play at the latest when it comes to system safety in general mechanical engineering. For example, we have developed a TÜV-approved force transducer concept for use in theater and stage technology. We would be happy to develop a safety concept for force measurement in your system.
Do you or your customers come from the shipbuilding industry? We will then arrange for the certification of our measurement technology by DNV (a merger of the two leading classification societies, Det Norske Veritas and Germanischer Lloyd).
Measurement systems used in potentially explosive atmospheres are subject to special requirements. In such cases, sensors and measurement systems must comply with the ATEX directives. Force sensors are often part of safety functions, such as overload monitoring or shutting down machines in the event of impermissible loads. Together with the higher-level control system, they form a safety-related system that must meet specific safety requirements.
Primosensor helps you evaluate your force measurement systems in accordance with functional safety requirements and classify them into the appropriate safety categories. These include, among others, the Performance Level (PL) according to EN ISO 13849-1 and the Safety Integrity Level (SIL) according to EN IEC 61508 or EN IEC 61511.
