Whenever you want to measure big forces, you should think about the possibility to use a small strain transducer for this task. It is easy to install at machine parts, which are deformed by load.
This can be for instance presses, punching machines, other machine frames, but also break housings, axles or bridge supporters. There are no limits for the big variety of applications. Calculate the strain on the surface of the machine part. Then choose the adequate sensor – up to 250, 500 or 750 µε strain. After installing the sensor you fix the maximum value of output signal under load with a single calibration routine. Then masurement can begin. Besides analog output signals Primosensor offers a CANopen version.
